PROJECT COBRATECH.

As Featured in Mustang and Fords August 2003 issue.
Cobratech's objective was to combine the reliable high-tech performance of the 32-valve SVT Mustang  powerplant with the looks and handling of a lightweight Shelby 289FIA Cobra replica.   Hopefully creating a perfectly streetable Cobra with durable racetrack performance.

The car is an ERA brand replica of the smallblock FIA roadster that established the Cobra as a racing legend even before the advent of the big-block 427s. The SVT motor is quite large, requiring ERA to make a few mods, such as: custom motor-mounts, footboxes and headers as well as relocating the steering column, gas and brake pedals. ERA did a great job, but is not interested in the expense of creating another car of this type.

Electrical systems for transplant projects can get quite involved. All Lucas style wiring on the firewall was removed for a cleaner appearance. All relays and fuses were updated and relocated to the passenger footwell with the ECM. Fuel and spark management was handled by the prototype Accel DFI Gen-7 system that is now available retail. All this work was done by the experts at  Blood Enterprises.

Blood Enterprises built the motor which includes:
